Diy Decorating Cake Cuttter Wedding
My $1 Cake Knife/Server thingy
There is no way I was paying 15-30 bucks for a cake knife that I was only going to use once .. and that nobody will probably notice.. so I headed over to my local dollar tree and got a cake server and used some supplies that I already had at home. I hotglued the blue ribbon around the handle, added a fabric flower, some rhinestones and ribbon. viola! A DIY project that took maybe ten minutes done! The pics arent the best but you get the pictures anyways.

- Dedicated August 2011 Good for you! I totally agree, it's not worth breaking the bank over. My mom and I had a bit of a disagreement over this, but then she surprised me by doing something similar to what you did and it came out fabulous, just like yours!! And you're right, not a single person was like, "oh wow, I can't believe she doesn't have antique museum quality servers". And even if they had, I woulda just smacked them with it. lol. *penny pinching fist bump!!* haha - Reply

- Master October 2011 It is cute! We already had a sterling cake lifter and Lenox champagne flutes, so we are not buying something new for the wedding. - Reply

You did such a great job!!! We actually spent over twenty dollars for ours - but I grew up seeing my best friend's parent's wedding cake knife, server and topper on display at their house and I absolutely loved it. I wanted to do that - and even though we decided to forego a topper, I still wanted the servers so we splurged on it. And they matched our theme. =) But! Yours is absolutely beautiful, and I think you did a wonderful job. - Reply

Really nice job good work... make sure to "tuck" a plain knife with a long blade to actually cut the cake for your servers...if your cake has tall layers..just a thought... good work... make sure to "tuck" a plain knife with a long blade to actually cut the cake for your servers...if your cake has tall layers..just a thought...- Reply
